It’s Sunday afternoon and it’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write a blog. Mostly because whenever I had time off I used that time to sleep. I’ve been experiencing a slight setback with Graves Disease recently but I won’t go into that right now. Because I decided to drink GABA tea today and even after a few infusions I can feel the effects of it.
For people that don’t know. Tea is indeed healthy. But if you think Tea is just Tea you also must know by know that there is more to tea than just Teabags……. if not… you haven’t read my other blogs and I suggest you dive into the archive to read my previous blogs.
I’ve never been drunk. However I’ve been spaced out because of lack of sleep after doing an entire week of concerts in The UK. (I never knew there was such a thing as sleep drunk, but I can tell you it does exist!!) And I’ve noticed it gets worse when I drink Diet Coke when I’m tired due to the Caffeine that’s in Diet Coke. And believe it or not. You can get Tea Drunk. When you think tea is a ladies drink and weak compared to coffee you haven’t been informed right. Because Tea is pretty cool. Why do you think Chinese Monks drink tea when they are meditating. It can be a drug. Not to mention all the health benefits tea can have. I am just mentioning the ginger tea my Grandparents used to make me when I was coughing. And that is just one example. Today I wanted to get things out of my system again. My head is exploding from all the thoughts that I have and I used to sit down and write everything down. That way I could ventilate all the emotions that I have. But for some reason I’ve not be able to do so recently. The result of that is that I feel like I’m stuck in gear and not getting in any further while I feel I want to move on to new and exciting things. So decided to give my body a bit of a boost and get Tea Drunk. It’s my “drug” So went to my stack of tea and found the Gaba Black Bio Tea and started to drink that! And well………here I am……. It’s 15:00 and I already wrote half a blog haha……

In the meantime I am enjoying my afternoon drinking tea while listening to Planet Rock radio.
The GABA Black Tea from hotsoup.nl that I’ve been drinking this afternoon is not my favorite in taste. It’s got a lot of minerality going on. First the smell was really nice. It smelled like dry prunes and dry wood. The texture of the tea is really smooth and it got a sweet aftertaste. It is a nice tea to drink. It is easy to drink because the feeling is really smooth and not clenching at all but it really fills me up. Last week I was fortunate enough to visit the Mei Leaf Teahouse in Camden, London. I spend an afternoon drinking tea with my friends which was such a pleasure!! I choose Midnight Sun and it was served Gong Fun Style with the Gong Fu Guru. That meant that the tea I was drinking was really smooth and in the end I had about more than a liter tea! It was so nice and not filling me up at all. The overall feeling I have is just relaxed. I am not sweaty or warm. But I just feel nice and comfy. I don’t think I am really tea drunk because I can still think very clear. In fact I can think clearer than usual. I don’t feel giggly or the need to be funny. So I think I am still alright as far as tea drunk goes. I think the Midnight Sun I was drinking last week had more effect. Especially because it was served in the Yixing pot. The clay is also reacting with the tea! Having said that…….
I totally fell in love with this set!! Unfortunately it is very expensive!!! €261,- (GBP230,-!!) But the tea was so smooth and I loved the Yixing Zisha clay pot! It was too cute! Loved how it felt, how it poured and it stayed really warm. In my head I am already justifying that it is okay for me to buy it. I looked on other websites to see if there is something cheaper that looks similar. But nothing looks as good as the Gong Fu Guru. And now you can pre-order without paying of postage and packaging which saves me about €40,- so I am so tempted to buy it! But IT IS RIDICULOUS expensive anyway. I discussed this with my Grandmother that didn’t help me either haha. She suggested that if it was really what I wanted I should not hesitate and just buy it. Other people buy lots of clothes or a expensive painting. My passion is tea so if I think it is worth the money I should buy it and don’t regret that it is a lot of money. So still deciding if I think it is worth the money! In the meantime I enjoy using my connoisseur tea brewer. It is really convenient and easy to use. I love the tray but I’ve got one of the mint green tea cups now and it supposed to stain so you map out your tea journey as you go along. But for the people that don’t know much about tea it looks like I haven’t washed my cups and tea ware. So I would prefer different tea ware but so far the Gong Fu Guru is only sold as a set. I also don’t really need the towel, the scoop and the tweezers and the glass teapot. So it would be nice if I could buy the tray with the strainer and the Xixing teapot without all the other tea ware. But that is not the case unfortunately. But maybe in the future. So I’m keeping an eye on the website and I already got the tea and the connoisseur tea brewer with the matching white porcelain scoops and the mint green cup. I do love the cup because it is really small and cute and it stays warm for a while. So you can really hold it in your hand and feel the heat. As I mentioned I had Midnight Sun while at Mei Leaf and of course I took some home. Along with a whole lot of other tea!
Needless to say I will be doing some more tea tasting in the upcoming Months. Especially looking forward to the Young Gushu and Baked Goods. Already had Lost Robe and that was nice. But I need to really sit down get into it. Also looking forward to Jade Star 2 as that is also a tea that gets you Tea Drunk.
